Pete Jiminy
In the “real world,” Pete Jiminy works as a graphic designer and illustrator, creating oil pantings in his spare time. Pete enjoys working with abstraction and humor, and loves exploring the possibilities of art created using the virtual world medium, both in its limitations and its freedoms. He has inspired and contributed to a number of collaborative projects in Second Life, including a Surrealist Dance Hall and a One Prim Exhibition (involving work using a single primitive graphical element), both held on the Caerleon sims. His art in Second Life is primarily an attempt to answer a single overriding question: Does the virtual world only provide only a quick and easy version of what can also be achieved in the traditional world, or can it permit the creation of works that have no counterpart in "real life?"
